What kind of product do I use to remove glue from my stone?

Can you please advise me if their(sic) is a product that removes glue from flagstone? Many thanks!

ANSWER - There are all types of glues, so what removes it just depends on the type of glue. Flagstone is a shape of a stone, not a geological classification of a stone. Some more porous stones could be stained depending on what you use to clean the glue from it, so you have to test whatever you use first to make sure it will work satisfactorily. There is a product that removes many types of glues and it is called Goof Off. It may or may not work satisfactorily with your particular type of stone and glue. You will have to experiment to see if it works to your satisfaction or not. There are some glues that can be heated up with an air driven hair dryer or heat gun that will make it easier to remove, but again it depends on the type of glue you are trying to remove, the type of stone you are removing it from, and how much heat you use.
