I poured leftover grout down the sink, so what do I do?

QUESTION

I poured my left over grout down the sink, so what do I do? We recently tiled our indoor floor. We poured the extra grout down the industrial sink. Now we are having trouble with drainage. Do you think it is due to the grout? And if so, How do I fix it?

ANSWER

ANSWER - Grout is a cementitious material so as the water evaporates from it solidifies.    So it has probably caused some blockage in your drain by you pouring your grout in your sink.   Cement does breakdown when subjected to acid, so if the blockage isn't too thick if you take an acid, which isn't too corrosive that will damage your plumbing, it might loosen it up.  You will probably have to get a plumbing rotor to open the drains.
