QUESTION
We just had porcelain glazed tile (wood look) installed in a new house. We need to seal the grout and we would like to add some gloss to the look of the tile. Do you have a product recommendation?ANSWER
ANSWER - Because you have a glazed tile surface that is impervious, I don't think the stone enhancer sealers would give you a gloss finish or be practical to do. It might even be problematic. The only thing you consider doing is put a wax on the tile surface and polish it to a gloss. This means there will be a lot more maintenance to maintain the floor. There are liquid polish products for vinyl and other products, but they are not designed for tile and there will be a lot more maintenance to maintain the floor.
We have black matt porcelain tiles and looking to gloss finish them, looking for any information on products and advice, please.
What you need to determine first is whether the tile has an glazed coating over the surface or if it is an unglazed/throughboddy tile. If it is a throughbody tile then you need to know how absorbing it is. A porcelain throughbody tile is impervious and it is limited in what can be applied over it.
If you have a throughbody tile you could use an enhancer sealer that is recommended for the tile and its intended use.
