How can I find Franciscan Terra Floor Tile Flash Walnut G0109? - We have a tile floor installed in 1974 with Interpace Franciscan terrafloor Series 500 Flash Walnut G0109. We want to get more of the tile. How might we get a close match to this tile?

ANSWER - Franciscan Terra Floor Flash Walnut Pebble Finish G0109 is a blast from the past. I sold thousands upon thousands of square feet of that tile many years ago. It was an extruded tile that was then pressed dried and fired. It was a very hard and durable tile.

After Franciscan shut down in Glendale, CA, there was a company called Dura Ceramics who bought all of the old production dies and started producing the terra floor product in Van Nuys, CA. I haven't heard anything about them for awhile.

Since so much of this tile was sold there might be some somewhere in somebody's warehouse, but it won't be easy finding it. You can have ceramic artist try to match the color and texture on a different tile body, but there are no guarantees. Good luck in your hunt.
