Rainier Partners and its portfolio company SCI Flooring have announced the platform’s third add-on acquisition, Flooring Partners. The investment solidifies the company’s position as a flooring provider in the Midwest and expands operations to the East Coast.

Founded in 1990 and employee-owned since 2021, Flooring Partners specializes in the sale and installation of flooring to multi-family, commercial, and retail clients. The company is headquartered in Baltimore and services markets across Maryland, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and-through the recent acquisition of Flooring Edge-Ohio.

Based in Detroit, SCI is a floorcovering services provider to multi-family, commercial and single-family property managers and builders throughout the Midwest. Combining with Flooring Partners bolsters the platform’s exposure to the attractive multi-family tenant turnover market while providing opportunities to grow in new regions with existing customers.

SCI Flooring is a full-service provider of soft and hard surface floorcovering solutions to multi-family, commercial, and single-family property managers and builders. The company operates as SCI Floor Covering in Detroit, Michigan; MC Flooring in Kansas City, Missouri; Eastpointe Interiors in Grand Rapids, Michigan; United Carpet in St. Louis, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois; Carpetbaggers in Indianapolis, Indiana; and Flooring Partners in Ohio and East Coast markets.

SCI was acquired by Rainier in July 2023. SCI acquired United Carpets in December 2023 and Carpetbaggers in June 2024.
