New Home Sales Rose 12.4% in November

Washington, DC, December 23, 2021 – Sales of new single‐family houses in November 2021 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 744,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, 12.4% above the revised October rate of 662,000 but 14.0% below the November 2020 estimate of 865,000.

The median sales price of new houses sold in November 2021 was $416,900. The average sales price was $481,700.

The seasonally‐adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of November was 402,000. This represents a supply of 6.5 months at the current sales rate.
