Friday, August 28, 2026 from Ceramic World Web

Strong performance from the Global Ceramic Segment with net sales of $2.3 billion, up 9% on the first half of 2025.

Mohawk Industries closed the second quarter of 2026 with better-than-expected results, reporting net sales of $3 billion, up 6.8% compared to the same period in 2025 (up 5.0% adjusted for constant exchange rates), and net earnings of $196 million, compared to $147 million a year earlier. For the first half as a whole, the US group reported net sales of $5.7 billion (up 7.4% on the same period in 2025), while net earnings rose to $313 million.

The Global Ceramic Segment saw a particularly positive performance, with second quarter net sales up 7.9% and an operating margin of 7.8%, with higher input costs offset by productivity gains and an improved product mix. The Calhoun, Georgia-based multinational’s ceramic division closed the half-year with net sales of $2.3 billion, up 9.1% on the same period in 2025.

Commenting on the results, Chairman and CEO Jeff Lorberbaum noted that the group had outperformed its markets thanks to volume growth, pricing and the introduction of new collections. According to Lorberbaum, Mohawk gained market share in most regions despite continued weakness in the residential sector, while the commercial segment continued to perform more strongly.

The company has also initiated new efficiency programmes focused on operational simplification, warehouse consolidation and capacity optimisation, all of which should reduce costs by approximately $60 million by the end of 2027.

As announced in June, current President and COO Paul De Cock will take over the role of CEO as of 30 September 2026, while Lorberbaum will remain Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

For the third quarter, De Cock expects market conditions to remain challenging: “

Across the world, the home resale market remains near multi-decade lows, and new home construction remains soft.”

Nonetheless, the group expects the commercial segment to continue outperforming residential and that its higher-end product portfolio will continue to enhance the sales mix.
