Ceramic Imports Down 3% by Dollar Value in 2024

New York, NY, February 12, 2025 – Total U.S. imports of ceramic tile in the year 2024 were 179.3 million square meters, a decline of 3.4% from the year 2023 when imports were 185.6 million square meters, according to Grosser Consulting. By dollar value, total imports were $1.953 million (-3.0%).

The decrease was due to the decline in imports from Brazil (-17.7%), Turkey (-17.1%), Mexico (-10.7%), India (-2.7%) and Spain (-2.5%). Imports from Italy were up 3.1% and from Vietnam were up 37%.

Imports in square meters were as follows: India in first place with 36.6 million square meters, followed by Spain (31.5 million square meters), Italy (28.6 million square meters), Mexico (27.8 million square meters), Brazil (14.1 million square meters), Turkey (13.4 million square meters) and Vietnam (9.8 million square meters).Total imports were 179.3 million square meters (-3.4%).

Imports in dollars were as follows: Italy in first place with $580 million (-1.2%), followed by Spain ($476 million, -1.2%), Mexico ($253 million, -6.4%), India ($187 million, -2.4%), Turkey ($106 million, -23.6), Brazil ($98 million, -18%) and Vietnam ($64 million, +38.2%).
