U.S. hard-surface imports began 2024 in much the same way they left 2023, with January’s $374.2 million in value only increasing by 0.6% from last December.<\/p>\n
However, that’s 4.8% better than January 2023. More sectors also noted positive year-over-year comparisons in both value and volume.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Other Stone sector, including quartzite, made the biggest gain from January 2023 in value (37.9%) and volume (9.8%). Much of the growth came from sector pacesettter Brazil, with Italy and Vietnam also making large contributions.<\/span><\/p>\n
